C9++

C9++ is a 13-player setup initially designed by a bunch of hardcore nerds that think they've scientifically
solved this bad game and blah blah blah. Boring shit. Basically the reason this is here is because if you're
stuck for an idea, you can go ahead and roll the dice and it'll generate something vaguely resembling a
balanced setup for you.

Also Wren got tired of going to some other website full of assholes whenever he wanted to look this system up.

The basic idea is that the more power roles the town ends up with, so goes it for the scum.

Basic Mechanics

  • It is suggested to start this setup on day one, not night zero. It's not world-ending, just not optimal.
  • 50% of all setups generated will contain a Serial Killer.
    • The aforementioned Serial Killer chooses Investigation Immunity or 1-shot Bulletproof pregame.
  • Cops are guaranteed to be sane (because non-sane cops are bad design, just leave them out if you're tired of cops)
    • Cops get results in the form of Town/Antitown or Innocent/Guilty or something like that (they're not rolecops)
    • Serial Killers show up as Antitown/Guilty unless they have Investigation Immunity.
  • Doctors prevent one night kill. If a doctor protects a townie that the scum and the serial killer both go after, the townie still dies.
  • Kills are indistinguishable - do not use different flavor for Mafia, Vigilante or Serial Killer night kills. (does anyone do this?)
  • Mafia Roleblockers cannot kill AND block in the same night.
  • The original spec sheet for this setup indicates the Innocent Child is announced by the mod at the start of day one. What this really does, though, is immediately take the decision-making out of the hands of that particular player. It's better to make the child's triggering of the mod's announcement a night action.

Randomization

Goes like this: you roll 1d100 seven times and note each result. Different ranges of numbers add different power roles.
Run those numbers through this rubric so you end up with a wad of letters like TTTDDVB or whatever. Seven letters.

  • 1-50 = T (Townie - the more of these you get, the weaker the scum end up being (to a certain point))
  • 51-65 = C (Cop)
  • 66-75 = D (Doctor)
  • 76-85 = V (Vigilante)
  • 86-95 = M (Mason)
  • 96-100 = B (Blocker)

The mod then notes how many of each letter is generated. This determines the game's roles. For example, when looking at the
C-list, look at how many Cs you received. If you get no Cs, do not add any roles from the C-list (one exception: the T-list
has a set of scumbos to be added if 0 Ts are generated). If you get three Cs, look at where it says CCC and add the
corresponding powerroles into the game. In the case of three Cs, add a Cop and a 1-Shot Cop.

Once the town power roles and scum roles have been determined, add a number of Vanilla Townies so that the game contains 13 players.

Add salt to taste.

Bake at 350 for 65 minutes.

Cop Roles

C = 1-Shot Cop
CC = Cop
CCC = Cop + 1-Shot Cop
CCCC = 2 Cops
CCCCC = 2 Cops + 1-Shot Cop

VVVV = 2 Vigilantes
VVVVV = 2 Vigilantes + 1-Shot Vigilante
VVVVVV = we have setups elsewhere on the wiki for this many vigs, just go there

Mason Roles

M = Innocent Child
MM = 2 Masons
MMM = 2 Masons + Innocent Child
